Looks like OzIA is shaping up to be a great conference. I wish I had the time to get down there. AP’s own Dan Saffer will be presenting on documentation (it’s really more interesting than it sounds) and giving a workshop on models of invention. We’ve had giant post-its with various models up in a hallway here for weeks sparking comments, counter-models, and even some heated discussion. There’s no telling what Dan’s going to put together but it should be enlightening. Of course, the other presenters are top notch as well. In particular, Eric Sheid always has something interesting to say and Donna Maurer is talking about Women, Fire, and Dangerous Things.

Service design is tricky due to it’s need to span multiple contexts and “touch points”. It means having to account for and incorporate the social, the cultural, and the esthetic. What kinds of issues arise when one of the touch points is biological or genetic?

Apparently moving your family, your dog, and all of your stuff from one coast to the other takes a lot of time and seriously distracts you from blogging. Add to that the new job at Adaptive Path (which I have hit the ground running in) and we can see why it’s been about a month since my last post. Still, the last post is sort of appropriate since I am now in the SF Bay Area indefinitely and am happy to get together with anyone who may be interested.

Btw, I’m working on a very interesting project which has got me thinking about a lot of interesting blog posts. When I have a bit of time to breath, I’ll get those out ASAP.
